Drone Offensive Targets Critical UAE Energy Infrastructure
A targeted drone strike has ignited a massive fire within the Fujairah Oil Industries Zone on the eastern coast of the United Arab Emirates. Authorities in Fujairah confirmed that the oil facility was hit by a drone, resulting in a large scale blaze that emergency teams are currently struggling to bring under control. The facility is strategically located on the Gulf of Oman, positioned beyond the Strait of Hormuz, which remains effectively closed by Iranian forces. While the physical damage to the infrastructure is reported to be significant, local officials stated that there have been no injuries reported in the immediate aftermath of the explosion.
Iranian Ballistic Missiles Reach Central Israel
In a separate but simultaneous escalation, Iranian forces launched a series of ballistic missiles toward central Israel, marking the third such attack since midnight. Rescue services reported at least two impacts in the central region, with evidence suggesting the missiles may have been equipped with cluster bomb warheads. These munitions or falling fragments triggered sirens across the country, sending residents to shelters. According to Emanuel Fabian, there have been no immediate reports of casualties resulting from these specific impacts, though the use of cluster munitions indicates a shift toward more volatile weaponry in the ongoing regional conflict.
Direct Threats Issued Against US Carrier Strike Group
The Iranian military’s unified command, Khatam al-Anbiya, has formally designated the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier and its supporting infrastructure as active targets. Ebrahim Zolfaqari, a spokesperson for the command, stated in a video shared by the Fars news agency that the carrier's presence in the Red Sea constitutes a direct threat to Iranian national security. Consequently, the regime has identified the logistics and service centers that enable the strike group to remain operational as primary targets for future strikes. This rhetoric follows the carrier's recent departure from Crete as part of a surge in U.S. naval presence intended to deter further Iranian aggression.
