Violent Street Abduction Triggers Emergency Response

A targeted abduction on the streets of Elkhart escalated into a violent confrontation over the weekend, leading to multiple felony charges against two local teenagers. The Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that Alvonte Fox and Tyvonn King, both 19, were apprehended following an incident that began on Goshen Avenue. According to police records, a 16 year old victim was walking near Middlebury Street when he was intercepted by an SUV. Two armed individuals allegedly forced the minor into the vehicle at gunpoint, initiating a series of events that spanned several locations across the city before the victim could alert authorities.

Assault and Theft at Elkhart High School Division

The situation turned physical when the suspects stopped the vehicle in the vicinity of 1 Blazer Boulevard, the site of the Elkhart High School Freshman Division. During this stop, the assailants allegedly demanded the victim’s backpack. When the 16 year old attempted to resist or escape, one of the suspects reportedly struck him in the head with a handgun. Despite the injury, the victim managed to flee the immediate area on foot, though the suspects continued their pursuit in the vehicle, eventually cornering him again in a parking lot on Waterfall Drive.

Interference with Emergency Communication and Escape

In a final attempt to secure help, the victim tried to dial 911 using his mobile phone in the 400 block of Waterfall Drive. Police reports indicate that one of the suspects caught up to the boy and physically smashed the device to prevent the call from being completed. However, the victim was eventually able to reach a secondary location and contact emergency services, reporting that he was screaming for help during the ordeal. While the victim sustained head injuries from the pistol whipping, he reportedly declined further medical attention at the scene after being evaluated by responding officers.
