A Critical Morning Emergency in Bishan
The tranquility of a residential neighborhood was shattered on April 20 when a severe road accident left an elderly man fighting for his life. At approximately 9:50 am, the Singapore Police Force and the Singapore Civil Defence Force were dispatched to Bishan Street 13 following reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian. The victim, identified as an 86-year-old man, was found in a state of unconsciousness, prompting an immediate and intensive medical response from emergency teams on the ground.
Immediate Life Saving Efforts at the Scene
Eyewitness accounts provided a harrowing glimpse into the moments following the impact. A local resident, identified only as Mr. Huang, observed paramedics and SCDF officers performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the elderly pedestrian as he lay on the road. The urgency of the situation necessitated these immediate life-saving interventions before the man could be safely moved. Following the stabilization efforts, the victim was urgently transported to Tan Tock Seng Hospital for further emergency treatment.
Investigative Focus on a Blue Electric Vehicle
As the medical team focused on the victim, police cordoned off the area to begin a formal inquiry into the circumstances of the crash. Another witness, Mr. Zheng, noted the presence of several officers gathered around a blue electric vehicle parked at the side of the street. Investigators were seen questioning a man who remained at the scene next to the car, which is believed to be the vehicle involved in the collision. The presence of the specialized traffic police indicates the serious nature of the injuries sustained by the pedestrian.
