Strategic Selection for Cultural Communication

The Faculty of Education at East China Normal University (ECNU) has achieved a major milestone with its "International Dialogue on China’s Education Stories" project being named a winner in the 2025 Shanghai “International Communication of Chinese Culture” Initiative. This selection underscores the vital role of academic platforms in bridging cultural divides and sharing China's domestic educational evolution with a global audience. The project serves as a cornerstone for ECNU’s mission to foster international knowledge exchange and academic diplomacy.

The Role of the ECNU Review of Education

Central to this initiative is the ECNU Review of Education (ROE), an international, peer-reviewed English-language journal. As the first English education journal in China to be indexed in both Scopus and the Web of Science with top-quartile rankings, ROE provides a high-impact platform for Chinese educational scholarship. The journal acts as a primary vehicle for disseminating research outcomes to the global academic community, ensuring that Chinese perspectives on pedagogical reform are recognized on the international stage.

Global Network of Education Deans

The project’s reach is amplified through the Global Education Deans Forum (GEDF), which has successfully united deans from more than 70 universities across five continents. This stable and dynamic network facilitates ongoing dialogue on shared global challenges, such as the future of learning and intelligent education. By hosting annual forums, online dialogues, and doctoral training camps, the GEDF and ROE have established a robust infrastructure for international research collaboration that transcends geographical and cultural boundaries.
