A Cold Exit from the Jungle

The tension that defined the final days of I'm A Celebrity... South Africa did not dissipate with the latest double eviction. David Haye, the former world heavyweight champion, used his exit interview to double down on his criticisms of campmate Adam Thomas. The two had been at odds for several days, with Haye repeatedly questioning the legitimacy of Thomas’s fatigue and his reluctance to participate in grueling trials. Even as he walked out of the camp, Haye refused to offer a diplomatic truce, instead framing Thomas’s experience as a lack of fortitude.

Clash Over Health and Work Ethic

At the center of the feud is Adam Thomas’s struggle with psoriatic arthritis, an autoimmune condition he was diagnosed with in 2023. While Thomas, 37, has been seen on camera appearing physically unwell, Haye has remained unsympathetic. The boxer suggested that Thomas’s claims of the show being the "hardest thing he's ever been through" did not resonate with him, citing his own background in "tough boxing gyms" and fighting "seven-foot Russian giants." Haye maintained that for a grown man to struggle with a "fun TV show" where they are "paid handsomely" was a perspective he simply could not understand.

The Breaking Point for Thomas

The conflict has taken a visible toll on Thomas, who told Haye directly in camp, "You're my issue right now," after being told to "shut up" during a two-day verbal barrage. Thomas later revealed on social media that the constant friction with the boxer "broke him." Despite Haye offering a brief apology in camp, Thomas rejected the gesture, claiming it was insincere. The remaining campmates also appeared exhausted by the constant bickering, with Gemma Collins reportedly stepping in at points to shield Thomas from Haye’s pointed remarks.
