A Heartbreaking Discovery During Peak Hour Traffic

Gillian Khor was driving home with her husband and three children during the Wednesday evening peak period when she encountered a significant traffic bottleneck near Lorong Chuan. As she approached the source of the congestion along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1, a sense of dread took hold. Living nearby, she feared for her father, who frequently used that route. Her fears were realized when she saw a familiar motorcycle and then her father, 66-year-old Khor Tong Peng, lying on the asphalt. Khor described the moment as the "shock of her life," immediately stopping her car to provide assistance while her husband drove their children home.

Grabfood Rider Caught in Multi-Vehicle Collision

The elder Khor, a Grabfood delivery rider, was reportedly on his way to pick up an order at New Tech Park when the collision occurred. The accident, which took place at approximately 6:40 pm, involved Khor’s motorcycle and two cars. Photos from the scene showed a black car with a severely crumpled bonnet, indicating a high-impact strike. Khor admitted to "blacking out" upon impact and remained in a state of shock during the journey to the hospital, unaware that his eyes had remained wide open the entire time.

Medical Professionals and Bystanders Render Aid

In a fortunate turn of events amidst the tragedy, several qualified individuals were among the passers-by who stopped to help. A first-aider and two doctors happened to be at the scene and provided immediate medical attention to the elder Khor before paramedics arrived. The victim was subsequently taken conscious to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where he is currently being treated for a broken rib and various other injuries. The Khor family has since issued a public plea for eyewitnesses or dashboard camera footage to help clarify the events leading up to the crash.
