Parking Dispute Turns Violent

The assault occurred last week at the Harper Apartments, where Grace Rees pays a monthly fee of $50 for a specific assigned parking stall. According to Rees, the conflict began after her husband noticed an unauthorized vehicle occupying their spot. When the couple requested that the car be moved, the group—believed by Rees to be visitors rather than residents—refused to comply and became verbally aggressive.

A Coordinated Assault

Rees stated that the situation escalated rapidly when she attempted to call for assistance. "They did not want to listen. They came up in my face," Rees told local reporters. She described the onset of the violence as being initiated by a younger woman in the group, which then triggered a "five against one" attack. Rees reported being overwhelmed as four women and one man allegedly swarmed her, shouting simultaneously and inflicting various physical injuries.

Victim’s Response and Evidence

Despite the trauma of the encounter, Rees managed to document the aftermath. She provided Dallas Police with photographs of her injuries and the suspects' vehicle in hopes of identifying the assailants. "You may have beaten me up, but it was five against one, so I had no chance," Rees remarked, expressing her hope that the group will be brought to justice.
