A Decades-Long Sentence for High-Level Narcotics Trafficking

The judicial system has issued a 30-year federal prison sentence to Angel Flores, a 36-year-old Dallas resident, for his leadership role in a violent drug trafficking organization. United States District Judge Ed Kinkeade handed down the decision following Flores's conviction for assaulting a federal officer with a deadly weapon and conspiring to distribute significant quantities of methamphetamine and heroin. U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould characterized the defendant as a "predator of predators," highlighting his dual involvement in poisoning local communities with illicit substances and engaging in the violent business of robbing other narco-traffickers.

Court records detail a sophisticated operation involving Flores and his co-conspirator, Andres Saucedo, Jr., which specialized in the importation and sale of narcotics sourced from a Mexico-based organization. The investigation revealed that as early as late 2024, Flores was facilitating the sale of kilogram quantities of heroin to undercover agents for thousands of dollars. This illicit activity continued into 2025, with the group moving multi-kilogram shipments of methamphetamine right up until the day of their apprehension by federal tactical teams.

A Calculated Ambush Against Federal Task Force Officers

The most volatile aspect of the case involved a premeditated attempt to eliminate law enforcement officers who were surveilling the group. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Flores and Saucedo realized they were being followed while plotting to rob a rival trafficker of up to 40 kilograms of methamphetamine. In response, they attempted to lure two federal agents into a "kill zone" where other co-conspirators were waiting to open fire. Before reaching the ambush site, Saucedo fired a weapon at an undercover vehicle occupied by an FBI Task Force Officer, an act that significantly escalated the federal response.
