Public Response to Defamation Claims
Sarah Mtalii, a prominent entrepreneur and co founder of Bonfire Adventures, has released a formal statement to counter allegations that she defrauded a client. In a video address shared via her social media channels on Friday, Mtalii categorically denied the label of a scammer, expressing deep frustration over reports that circulated online earlier in the week. She emphasized that her business operations are transparent and that the specific dispute in question had already been resolved through the company’s standard financial protocols.
Context of the UK Relocation Program
The controversy arose from a specialized program Mtalii facilitates, which assists parents in enrolling their children in overseas summer boarding schools. According to Mtalii, the client intended to relocate her children to the United Kingdom and engaged her services for a summer program. However, the relocation plans were halted when the client’s visa application was denied by immigration authorities. Mtalii clarified that the denial was attributed to issues within the client’s own bank statements rather than any failure on the part of the service provider.
Clarification on Refund and Cancellation Policies
Addressing the financial aspect of the dispute, Mtalii confirmed that the client received a refund for the majority of the funds paid. She explained that the only portion withheld was the mandatory cancellation fee charged by the third party supplier, the UK summer boarding school. Mtalii urged Kenyans seeking to relocate or book international travel to perform due diligence and thoroughly understand supplier cancellation policies, noting that visa decisions remain at the sole discretion of embassies and are outside her professional control.
