The Bloomington Police Department has arrested 24 year old Ahmed Abdullahi Aideed following a specialized investigation into allegations of criminal sexual conduct involving a teenager. According to the criminal complaint filed on Wednesday, Aideed initially connected with a 15 year old victim through the social media platform Snapchat, where he allegedly misrepresented his age as 17. Investigators state that even after meeting in person, the suspect continued to provide conflicting information regarding his identity, at one point claiming to be 19 to maintain the illicit relationship.

Surveillance and Sketches Corroborate Victim Testimony

The investigation gained significant momentum after the victim provided Shakopee police with a detailed physical description and a hand drawn sketch of the suspect,s apartment. Law enforcement officials noted that the details in the drawing matched the interior of Aideed,s Bloomington residence. Furthermore, surveillance footage retrieved from a local gas station corroborated the victim,s account of an evening in late January. The video reportedly showed an individual matching Aideed,s description wearing a mask and a hood, accompanied by a vehicle registered in his name, during a period when the victim was allegedly intoxicated.

Digital Search Warrants Reveal Patterns of Exploitation

A critical component of the prosecution,s case stems from a forensic audit of Aideed,s Snapchat account. Upon executing a search warrant for the digital data, officers discovered a significant volume of images featuring young females, several of whom appeared to be minors. According to the complaint, these photographs were taken against backgrounds that were identical to the interior of the suspect,s apartment. These digital breadcrumbs, including a nude photograph allegedly sent to the victim on January 18, formed the basis for the search warrant executed at his home earlier this week.
