A New Chapter for Women’s Counter-Strike

Berlin International Gaming (BIG) has officially announced "Project Breach," a strategic initiative dedicated to the female Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) competitive scene. Revealed via a cinematic trailer on March 3, 2026, the project is a direct response to the void left by the recent dissolution of ESL Impact. While ESL FACEIT Group cited sustainability concerns for the closure of its major women’s circuit, BIG is doubling down on the demographic, positioning itself as a primary advocate for gender diversity and professional growth in tactical shooters.

Strategic Partnership With GreenMedical

The initiative is bolstered by a collaboration with GreenMedical, a digital healthcare provider that first partnered with BIG in September 2025. Beyond financial support, GreenMedical is expected to integrate educational activations and wellness-focused content into Project Breach. By combining digital health with professional gaming, the partners aim to address the unique pressures faced by female competitors, offering a more holistic approach to talent development than traditional tournament structures.

Building on the Success of BIG EQUIPA

BIG is not a newcomer to the women's scene; the organization has been a dominant force since signing the "equipa" roster in 2022. Operating under the name BIG EQUIPA, the team famously won ESL Impact League Season 8, securing a $50,000 grand prize. Even as major circuits have scaled back, BIG EQUIPA has remained active in 2026, recently placing third in the JB Pro League Season 1 in February. Project Breach is seen as a natural extension of this commitment, providing a pathway for the organization to maintain its competitive edge while fostering a broader grassroots community.
