BAE Systems has marked a significant milestone in modern electronic warfare by demonstrating a new, scaled-down electromagnetic attack (EA) system during a series of flight tests. This hardware is designed to disrupt the electromagnetic spectrum, effectively neutralizing an adversary's ability to coordinate battlespace activities and maintain air defenses. By miniaturizing high-performance EA technology, the firm has created a system that can be deployed across a wider array of military assets. Strategic Collaboration and Successful Prototype Testing

The recent demonstration was conducted in close partnership with the United States Air Force, utilizing a prototype system housed within a specialized weapon pod. For the purposes of the test, the hardware was integrated into an aircraft serving as a surrogate for Group 4 or Group 5 unmanned aerial vehicles, which represent the largest classes of drones in the Department of Defense inventory. According to BAE Systems, the trial successfully proved the company’s ability to rapidly prototype a capable EA system that runs sophisticated counter-C5ISRT software. This software is specifically designed to target and degrade enemy command, control, communications, computing, cyber, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and targeting capabilities.
