Targeted Incursion In Kachia Local Government Area

The security situation in Kaduna State has faced another significant breach following the abduction of ten individuals in the Unguwar Sabon-Titi area of Kachia. The incident, which occurred at approximately 9:32 pm on Thursday, April 2, 2026, targeted two neighboring residences along the Katari–Hayin Dam road. Armed bandits, reportedly wielding sophisticated weaponry, successfully infiltrated the community and removed seven members of a single household along with three other residents before retreating into the surrounding wilderness.

Strategic Silence Near Police Quarters

Eyewitness accounts suggest the bandits employed a calculated strategy to avoid immediate detection. Mr. Markus Yakubu, a resident of Katari, noted that the attackers operated with notable silence during the initial phase of the raid. This stealth was likely due to the proximity of the targeted compound to the official residence of the Katari Divisional Police Officer (DPO). By refraining from discharge of firearms within the town limits, the kidnappers managed to move their victims out of the immediate vicinity without alerting nearby security officials.

Victims Identified Following Family Abduction

The raid resulted in the mass abduction of the Amos family. Those identified by community members include Jummai Amos, Barnabas Amos, Iko Amos, Baby Amos, Eunice Amos, Eshiwan Amos, and Godwin Amos. Additionally, three neighbors from an adjacent property—Bagudu Damisa, Evelyn Damisa, and Alfred Iriyo—were also taken. Reports indicate that the bandits only began firing their weapons into the air as a celebratory or deterrent measure once they had successfully moved the captives beyond the outskirts of the town.
