Leadership Transition at Nigeria LNG Limited
Nigeria LNG Limited has formally inaugurated Adeleye Falade as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. The transition occurred on Wednesday at the company’s corporate headquarters in Port Harcourt, following the departure of Philip Mshelbila. Mshelbila vacated the position after being appointed as the Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum. This leadership change marks a significant milestone for the organization as it continues to navigate the complexities of the global energy market and domestic production goals.
Extensive Global Energy Sector Expertise
Falade enters the role with nearly three decades of experience within the international oil and gas industry. His career has been defined by a long tenure within the Shell Group, where he managed diverse portfolios spanning upstream and midstream operations. His professional footprint includes leadership assignments across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Russia, and Africa. This broad geographic exposure has equipped him with expertise in production optimization, operational excellence, and the management of multinational joint ventures in highly complex environments.
Previous Leadership Roles and Strategic Assignments
Prior to this appointment, Falade served as the Managing Director of Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad, where he led one of the world’s established liquefied natural gas producers. His recent history also includes a tenure as Country Chair for Shell Namibia in 2023, where he directed strategic stakeholder engagement and operational delivery. Notably, Falade is not a stranger to the NLNG structure, having previously served as the General Manager of Production between 2019 and 2023, and as Operations Manager on Bonny Island earlier in his career.
