Allegations of Constitutional Violations

Hon. Isa Nathaniel, Chairman of the Counter and Mobilisation Team for the Rtd IGP Adamu 2027 Movement, has issued a scathing rebuttal to recent claims made by the Nasarawa State APC leadership. During a press conference in Lafia, State Chairman Dr. Aliyu Bello reportedly announced a vote of confidence in Governor Abdullahi Sule and the adoption of Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada as the party’s "preferred" aspirant for 2027. Nathaniel described these claims as spurious and unconstitutional, stating that they violate Article 21 of the APC Constitution, which governs the fair conduct of primaries.

Shielding the President from Local Manipulation

A central theme of Nathaniel’s statement was the alleged misuse of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s name to legitimize a local political arrangement. He emphasized that the President has not endorsed any governorship aspirant in Nasarawa and has consistently championed internal party democracy. Using the President’s name to "shield party structures from manipulation disguised as consensus" was described as politically unethical and a threat to Tinubu’s democratic legacy.

Questionable Consensus and Subtle Pressure

The Adamu 2027 Movement disputed the validity of the consensus claims, alleging that ward executives were mobilized to the Lafia event under "subtle pressure," including threats of political exclusion. Nathaniel argued that any endorsement obtained under such conditions is "morally questionable and politically invalid." He maintained that the APC belongs to its collective membership rather than a private structure controlled by a small group of officials, warning that staged endorsements risk alienating the broader party base.
